This barrier free newcomer orientation helps people who are brand new to take their first steps into the fascinating world of kink. \nWhat to expect\nPart 1 — The first part is a conversation with the participants about the world of kink: Etiquette online and offline\, expectations\, dress codes at events\, possibilities and some recommendations\, especially for single folks. \nPart 2 —We go through a few of the most common kinks: bondage\, impact\, Dominance/submission\, fetishes\, etc. Participants can see how it feels to hold a flogger or be tied up. \nPart 3 — The last part is all about the open questions of the participants: Where to go from here? What to do with this or that fantasy? How to find someone to play with? And many more questions answered.

DESCRIPTION:Shibari Live Drawing differs from usual live drawing sessions in two major ways. For one\, the poses that can be reached with the help of ropes are very different from anything live drawing models could assume on their own\, e.g. suspensions.  \nOn the other hand\, those poses are short living\, which means that artists are not only met with unusual poses but also with less time to catch them.  \nIn two Shibari performances by different Shibari practitioners from the community\, the participants will meet different body types every time.  \nAll levels welcome\, all media welcome (photography is dependent on the performer’s individual wishes and only as long as it does not disturb the other participants).  \n\n\n\n\n\n

DESCRIPTION:Still figuring out your boundaries?  Uncertain as to how to navigate touch in new relationships and first encounters? Curious about leveling up your practice of consent? \n\n\n\nTogether\, we will be moving through a framework intended to help participants discover their boundaries and desires\, as well as tune in to their particular sense of pleasure. The other focus of this exercise is connectedness: being curiously and nonjudgmentally engaged with the unique shape of another person’s personality\, form\, and idiosyncracies.  \n\n\n\nWhat does all of this mean?  \n\n\n\nAttendees will be introduced to a structured practice designed to foster a deeper relationship with both the self and others. \n\n\n\nAll attendees will receive a printed copy of the activity to take home.  \n\n\n\nCheck out this free audio recording of Shiphrah outlining some of the underlying philosophy being applied throughout this event (15 mins)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMeet our guest presenter\n\n\n\nShiphrah is a queer trans settler\, multicultural grandchild of holocaust survivors\, and ambulatory wheelchair user who has been enthusiastically practicing kink for 15 years. She lives with multiple intersecting complex chronic disabilities defined by unpredictability\, frequently oscillating between being visibly and invisibly disabled. This barrier free newcomer orientation helps people who are brand new to take their first steps into the fascinating world of kink. \nWhat to expect\nPart 1 — The first part is a conversation with the participants about the world of kink: Etiquette online and offline\, expectations\, dress codes at events\, possibilities and some recommendations\, especially for single folks. \nPart 2 —We go through a few of the most common kinks: bondage\, impact\, Dominance/submission\, fetishes\, etc. Participants can see how it feels to hold a flogger or be tied up. \nPart 3 — The last part is all about the open questions of the participants: Where to go from here? It’s pretty common that newer people choose not to suspend on their first ‘rotation’ through the All Levels class. Work at the pace that suits you\, make sure you feel comfortable with what you are doing\, and we will support you.Please note: Anyone who plans to suspend should attend the appropriate Uplines Friday class. We will briefly review uplines and/or cover special considerations for uplines for a particular tie\, but we will not teach uplines directly.  \n\n\n\nLoaner ropes are available. NO SUSPENSION with loaner ropes. \n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFineprint\n\n\n\n\nDate and Time: Every Tuesday\, 6.30pm – 9pm\n\n\n\nDuration: 2.5h\n\n\n\nFee: $35/person (member discounts available)\n\n\n\nPrerequisites: Basic understanding of knots and frictions\, safety and consent\, as well as movement and communication (Complete Intro to rope cycle).\n\n\n\nMaterial to bring: Bring your own ropes (we have loaner ropes available if you forget yours)\n\n\n\nFor individuals or pairs: Individuals will definitely learn something but the course is designed for pairs. \n\n\n\n\nPlease have a look at our policies and safety rules. \n\n\n\nStudio Allegory is on the ground floor and there are no steps anywhere in the space. There is a single washroom for all with a handle bar and an air hand dryer. We have unscented soap\, and we run an industrial air purifier automatically. Studio Allegory has a kitchen corner with a kettle and a coffee maker\, as well as a mini fridge and a microwave. Studio Allegory also has a quiet room equipped with fidget toys\, colouring books\, blankets\, noise cancelling earmuffs\, and stuffed animals. Upon request we can provide closed captions for our workshops running on a screen. We have masks for a small donation.  \n\n\n\n\nCancellation and refund policy:\n\n\n\n\nIf Studio Allegory has to cancel an event\, we will either refund ticket holders or transfer tickets to similar events in the future\, depending on the wishes of the ticket holder.  \n\n\n\nCancellation by participants: Cancellation before 48h prior to the start of the event entitles the ticket holder to a full refund. Between 48h and the start of the workshop\, we can provide a partial refund (50% minus payment processing fees.) or transfer of the ticket to a similar event in the future. \n\n\n\nNo refund or transfer can be offered for no-shows or cancellation after the event has started.
