SUMMARY:Consent\, Control\, and a Little More Mind Play
DESCRIPTION:This session explores the psychology and practice of hypnosis\, and its application in erotic and kink contexts. Participants will learn about the theory of the mind\, how the subconscious operates\, how hypnotic states are induced\, and what actually happens during hypnosis. We will clear up common myths\, discuss the applications and ethics of consent-based erotic hypnosis (hypnokink)\, and review evidence-based findings on hypnosis and\, further\, on BDSM and hypnokink. The session includes two live demonstrations\, and audience members will have the option to experience entering a hypnotic trance state if they choose to participate.Please note: This session builds on the May 2\, 2025 workshop. The core concepts are included again for those who were not able to attend previously\, with added material and an expansion on the erotic and kink applications of hypnosis. There is a single washroom for all with a handle bar and an air hand dryer. We have unscented soap\, and we run an industrial air purifier automatically. Studio Allegory has a kitchen corner with a kettle and a coffee maker\, as well as a mini fridge and a microwave. Studio Allegory also has a quiet room equipped with fidget toys\, colouring books\, blankets\, noise cancelling earmuffs\, and stuffed animals. Upon request we can provide closed captions for our workshops running on a screen. We have masks for a small donation.  \n\n\n\n\nCancellation and refund policy:\n\n\n\n\nIf Studio Allegory has to cancel an event\, we will either refund ticket holders or transfer tickets to similar events in the future\, depending on the wishes of the ticket holder.  \n\n\n\nCancellation by participants: Cancellation before 48h prior to the start of the event entitles the ticket holder to a full refund. Between 48h and the start of the workshop\, we can provide a partial refund (50% minus payment processing fees.) or transfer of the ticket to a similar event in the future. \n\n\n\nNo refund or transfer can be offered for no-shows or cancellation after the event has started.

This barrier free newcomer orientation helps people who are brand new to take their first steps into the fascinating world of kink. \nWhat to expect\nPart 1 — The first part is a conversation with the participants about the world of kink: Etiquette online and offline\, expectations\, dress codes at events\, possibilities and some recommendations\, especially for single folks. \nPart 2 —We go through a few of the most common kinks: bondage\, impact\, Dominance/submission\, fetishes\, etc. Participants can see how it feels to hold a flogger or be tied up. \nPart 3 — The last part is all about the open questions of the participants: Where to go from here? What to do with this or that fantasy? How to find someone to play with? And many more questions answered.
