SUMMARY:Playfighting
DESCRIPTION:Play fighting is a completely different way of engaging with other people. The way we move\, think\, and relate to our environment changes in this type of interaction. This group activity lets participants challenge each other for a play fight. All constellations are welcome.  \n\n\n\nIn a safe environment\, participants can challenge themselves and each other to fight with each other in a playful and joyful way. Not winning but experiencing is the focus of this monthly event. At play fighting\, we will start with an introduction that covers motivation\, safety\, consent\, and expectations. \n\n\n\nAfterwards\, it’s the participants’ space and time to experience play fights themselves.

DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the BIPOC Queer Jam!\nThis series of events aims to create a safe and community-focused space for Black\, Indigenous and Persons of Color who are rope enthusiasts.\n\nAt Studio Allegory this edition of the BIPOC Jam will include a Community Skillshare\, so if there’s anything you’re curious about learning or any skills you want to share\, this will be the space for it.\n\n\nImportant things to Know:\n– This is a *masked event* to protect our health\n– All levels are welcome\n– Come solo or in group\, make new rope friends!\n– Bring your ropes\, some loaner ropes are available on-site.\n– Be COVID-conscious: Stay home if you are unwell\, and take a COVID test before arrival.\n\nAccessibility info is below in the FAQ.\n\n\n❓ Frequently Asked Questions: ❓\n  \n❓I have no experience with rope\, can I still come?\nYes! All levels are welcome and there’s always a quick intro for beginners.\n\n❓Do I need to bring my own ropes?\nLoaner ropes are available on-site\, but if you have your own\, please bring them.\n\n❓ I do not identify as a BIPOC person\, can I still come?\nThis event is specifically geared towards Black\, Indigenous and Persons of Color in our community\, if you do not identify as one of those groups please refrain from joining. Studio Allegory hosts weekly jams that are open to all and you can check them out on our website.\n\n❓ I’m a BIPOC person\, but my partner isn’t\, can they still join?\nNot at this time\, this event is geared toward BIPOC folks exclusively. A jam is an inherently social event and a great place to make new rope friends!\n\n❓ Are masks mandatory?\nYes. Masks are mandatory to protect the most vulnerable members of our community. There will be masks available on-site. Be COVID-conscious: please stay home if you feel unwell and take a COVID test before arrival.\n\n❓ How accessible is the space?\nThis space is fully wheelchair accessible with no stairs. There’s a small separate area by the entrance that is designated as a Quiet Space with comfortable seats and noise blocking earmuffs. This is a scent reduced environment and an air purifier is always running. If you have any specific access needs please contact us and let us know.
