SUMMARY:"It's not the TK's fault" - Hybrid TK lab series in collaboration w Karada House
DESCRIPTION:The Takate Kote\, short just TK\, and its variations is one of the most tied structured patterns in the rope world. No matter if hands in the front or in the back\, if you tie a stemless TK or one with a stem\, whether you have Kannukis or not\, the TK is for sure a tie that has led to countless arguments amongst those who tie it regularly as well as against those who refuse to tie it for this or that reason. \n\n\n\nA standout quality of the TK is the fact that it is comprised of basically all fundamental techniques used in Shibari. Learning the TK isn’t limited to just learning a pattern but rather it allows to comprehend most of what is needed to tie with each other\, from proper tensions and placements\, all kinds of frictions and hitches\, as well as basic anatomy and rope handling. \n\n\n\nWe will not only demystify the Takate Kote but we will also look into the intricacies of it. We will work on it from the ground up and participants will get a picture as complete as possible about the advantages and disadvantages of various TK’s. What is it for\, when can we use which and what are the compatibilities and incompatibilities between different variations of the TK. \n\n\n\nPART 1 (JULY 27TH\, 2025\, 10am – 1PM PST)– Myths and monsters – why it’s not the TK’s fault if it’s boring or unsafe.– Principles of the TK – actually grounded in physics and not in tradition.– Complete structure of a TK \n\n\n\nPART 2 (AUGUST 3RD\, 2025\, 10am – 1PM PST)– Variations with hands low or high– Variations of the so-called “3rd rope”– Attachment points for suspensions and variations to support more up-line points. \n\n\n\nNote:This hybrid class can be visited via zoom AND in person. We are covering everything you need to know to incorporate ropes in a fun and satisfying way. In a safe(r) and welcoming environment\, we are developing techniques and approaches to rope bondage (shibari) that are actually useful for you. SUMMARY:Sharps and Safety
DESCRIPTION:In this class Annix will share some of the risks when playing with sharps and blood\, while also covering safer station setup\, basics of piercing\, wound care\, and cleanliness.  \n\n\n\nThey will also share more detailed medical risks\, procedures\, and information to help equip you with more safety measures and responses. After the discussion part of the class everyone will follow along with Annix to set up a safer sharps play station\, administer a needle to oneself or a classmate\, remove needle(s)\, provide wound care\, and station clean up. All materials will be provided\, though you are welcome to bring your own materials. Wear something comfortable\, bring water\, and be sure to eat about 30-60 minutes before class.  \n\n\n\nIf you have any questions or concerns before class you can contact Annix at mxannix@gmail.com \n\n\n\nAbout Annix\n\n\n\nA pro-domme and harm-reduction worker with a life-long obsession with sharps and blood. Annix is continuously learning new things to help deepen and improve their sharps practice. Some of their experience includes working as an assistant to hook suspension performers\, self piercing since 2004\, classes (online and in person) on sharps play\, sharps cleanliness and wound care\, and doing skill shares with a professional piercer. Their first aid and harm reduction training also plays a role in how they approach their practice. DESCRIPTION:The Tuesday All Level runs on an 8-week rotation. At the start of each rotation we introduce a new harness structure. Over the subsequent 7 weeks we then approach that structure from multiple different directions and purposes\, both technical and interpersonal. How can we break down and alter the harness to make it work in certain ways? Can we tie it while moving/dancing/sitting/playfighting? How does it behave in suspension? How can we make it ornate\, or comfortable\, or robust? We also build skills and habits to keep the focus on the interaction between humans rather than the pattern. People approach rope from a myriad different directions\, motivations\, and interests\, so our classes should reflect that diversity of approach.  \n\n\n\nThe order of classes may change depending on the pace and needs of participants. See the curriculum of our rope track \n\n\n\n\nHarness Intro\n\n\n\nDeeper Dive/Different Versions/Magic Tips and Tricks\n\n\n\nTying with Movement/Ranboo\n\n\n\nPartial/Static Suspension (Upline Review)**\n\n\n\nInterview Metaphor\n\n\n\nSuspension with Transition Options (Upline Special Considerations)**\n\n\n\nFloorwork\n\n\n\nChallenges! \n\n\n\n\nAll Level classes are designed for partner work\, though you are welcome to attend solo and absorb information.  \n\n\n\nA brief note on suspension: \n\n\n\nYou don’t have to suspend in these classes! It’s pretty common that newer people choose not to suspend on their first ‘rotation’ through the All Levels class. DESCRIPTION:This Sunday at Studio Allegory we are hosting our monthly BIPOC QUEER rope jam for BIPOC and QTBIPOC people interested in rope play! This space welcomes all BIPOC and QTBIPOC\, while acknowledging and creating space that prioritizes racialized folx who may face higher barriers to access\, such as being Indigenous\, Black\, Brown and/or being racialized and Disabled. \n\n\n\nThis Sunday the 27th from 3pm-7pm\, we will be hosting a skillshare style jam where folx can come and lab some ties with partners\, possibly tie with new people\, come to self tie or learn some intro skills. Det’ele will be going over some intro skills for folx who are interested in that and everyone else is welcome to share knowledge and/or tie together or self tie while enjoying the company of other racialized folx. The jam will open with a welcoming circle before getting into tying. DESCRIPTION:The Takate Kote\, short just TK\, and its variations is one of the most tied structured patterns in the rope world. No matter if hands in the front or in the back\, if you tie a stemless TK or one with a stem\, whether you have Kannukis or not\, the TK is for sure a tie that has led to countless arguments amongst those who tie it regularly as well as against those who refuse to tie it for this or that reason. \n\n\n\nA standout quality of the TK is the fact that it is comprised of basically all fundamental techniques used in Shibari. Learning the TK isn’t limited to just learning a pattern but rather it allows to comprehend most of what is needed to tie with each other\, from proper tensions and placements\, all kinds of frictions and hitches\, as well as basic anatomy and rope handling. \n\n\n\nWe will not only demystify the Takate Kote but we will also look into the intricacies of it. DESCRIPTION:The Tuesday All Level runs on an 8-week rotation. At the start of each rotation we introduce a new harness structure. Over the subsequent 7 weeks we then approach that structure from multiple different directions and purposes\, both technical and interpersonal. How can we break down and alter the harness to make it work in certain ways? Can we tie it while moving/dancing/sitting/playfighting? How does it behave in suspension? How can we make it ornate\, or comfortable\, or robust? We also build skills and habits to keep the focus on the interaction between humans rather than the pattern. DESCRIPTION:The Tuesday All Level runs on an 8-week rotation. At the start of each rotation we introduce a new harness structure. Over the subsequent 7 weeks we then approach that structure from multiple different directions and purposes\, both technical and interpersonal. How can we break down and alter the harness to make it work in certain ways? Can we tie it while moving/dancing/sitting/playfighting? How does it behave in suspension? How can we make it ornate\, or comfortable\, or robust? We also build skills and habits to keep the focus on the interaction between humans rather than the pattern. DESCRIPTION:The Tuesday All Level runs on an 8-week rotation. At the start of each rotation we introduce a new harness structure. Over the subsequent 7 weeks we then approach that structure from multiple different directions and purposes\, both technical and interpersonal. How can we break down and alter the harness to make it work in certain ways? Can we tie it while moving/dancing/sitting/playfighting? How does it behave in suspension? How can we make it ornate\, or comfortable\, or robust? We also build skills and habits to keep the focus on the interaction between humans rather than the pattern. DESCRIPTION:Come join us on Sunday the 29th at Studio Allegory again! Our host this time will be Det’ele. The jam will start with a discussion on connection followed by some exercises for everyone to participate in and whatever time is left after that will be an open jam where people can tie or chat or chat about tying to tie about chatting. PWYC tickets are available as usual\, just DM us for one and you can pay whatever amount on the day of. \n\n\n\n\nLook at how well ze holds two ropes in their hand! Ze will lead a discussion with folx about connecting through rope play with or without a partner. Come alone or with someone else! Do you have some forms of connection through rope that you have been excited about telling others? Do you want to come hear what people have to say? Have you never played with rope but are curious? Come! We welcome all skill levels and all the activities we do together will be doable for people new to rope or more experienced folx.  \n\n\n\n\nOr DM us with any questions. SUMMARY:Playfighting
DESCRIPTION:Play fighting is a completely different way of engaging with other people. The way we move\, think\, and relate to our environment changes in this type of interaction. This group activity lets participants challenge each other for a play fight. All constellations are welcome.  \n\n\n\nIn a safe environment\, participants can challenge themselves and each other to fight with each other in a playful and joyful way. Not winning but experiencing is the focus of this monthly event. SUMMARY:Rope Processing & Maintenance
DESCRIPTION:This will be a lecture type class with some demonstration. If time permits we may do a little hands on maintenance/repairs of ropes. Because of the environment\, hands on rope processing will not happen at this event. (It can get a little messy and smelly) \n\n\n\nDaremo will cover many topics around the tool used for rope bondage\, the rope. First he will talk about the types of ropes (and other things) used for rope bondage. There will be a large section on different ways one can process ropes\, mainly hemp and jute rope. This will range from basically no treatment to what could almost be a day long process. How and what you decide to do as part of your processing routine will be up to you. \n\n\n\nThe other big section will be on care and maintenance of your ropes. This section will mostly apply to jute rope\, with some parts that apply also to hemp and other ropes. Daremo will discuss different options for things that may help prolong the life of your rope\, and maybe things to avoid that may shorten their life.
